At last nights AGM in Palmerstown Eddie Holohan stood aside as Chairman of the Boro after 11 Years of service to be replaced by long time Treasurer Seamus Rochford. Eddie had been Juvenile Club Chairman for the previous 5 years also.

Eddie has given everything in his role as Chairman of the club. Since day 1 he has always led by example in all things Dicksboro & never felt any job was below his position as Chair. Eddie was a doer & GAA Clubs need doers.

Whether it be organising numerous fundraisers, Parking Cars at matches, doing the scoreboard, painting the club grounds, lining pitches, re-sodding goal mouths, re-sodding pitch drains, helping out at the club lotto every Thursday, working behind the bar & not to mention running the club from the Committee room, Eddie was always up to the task & never made a fuss or looked for a pat on the back.

Eddie has been instrumental in helping to rejuvenate our juvenile section, helped renovate our clubhouse, has helped lead our amalgamation into a 1 Club System as Dicksboro GAA & Camogie Club & has always kept the club on a stable financial footing.

He always had the back of Dicksboro players of all ages & abilities on & off the pitch. He looked out for the players needs & was always there for whatever support they might need. For that they are very appreciative.

A real example of Eddies influence in Dicksboro life can be seen in the fact that he must know every person boy or girl from age 5 up to 95 in the Boro! As his fantastic work along with his daughter Niamh in running the Boro Summer Camp over the last few years has connected the younger Boro generation with the Boro chairman. And the Thursday night lotto & cards is a connection with the older gen of Boro followers.

So well done on all your work Eddie, you did a great job & certainly left the club in good hands with your friend Seamus Rochford taking the keys of Palmerstown. Onwards & Upwards..
