Dicksboro AGM for 2020 was held last night online via Mircosoft Teams. Huge credit goes to Jim O Neill, Shane Kavanagh and Eddie Holohan for setting this up for the 70 plus members who attended.
Club Chairman Eddie Holohan started off the procedures by declaring a one minute silence for deceased members in the club for 2020 in particular the late Kitty Phelan.
Club Secretary Shane Kavanagh had sent all club members a comprehensive secretary report via email. This was an excellent detailed review of the year that was 2020. Congrats to Shane in his first year as club secretary
Club Chairman Eddie Holohan addressed the 70 attendees with a review of the year. He thanked everybody associated with the club who volunteered in any capacity throughout the year. He thanked outgoing Senior Management for their contribution in the last four years led by Mark Dowling. He welcomed new Senior Manager Pauirc Fanning and his Management team for 2021.
The Patsy Lacey Memorial Trophy was announced on the night. Chairman Eddie Holohan announced that Shane Stapleton was the player to receive this award. Shane had a tremendous season and was fully deserved of the award. Well done Shane.
Club Treasurer Seamus Rochford gave a comprehensive review of the club finances for 2020. This was Seamus last year as Club Treasurer as he is stepping down from his position. Seamus has been in the role for 23 years. Seamus has been a fantastic club volunteer. His attention to detail is incredible, always there to offer support and advice and always abe to solve any situation the club were faced. Seamus will be a huge loss to the executive committee. Jason Dempsey was ratifed as new club treasurer. We wish Jason the very best of luck in his new position.
Club chairman Eddie Holohan spoke about Seamus contribution for the club. Seamus was then ratified as an honorary life club member. Well done Seamus and well deserved. Paddy Maher was also acknowledged as an honorary life member. Paddy has done incredible work for the club with the lotto. His son Aidan spoke on behalf of Paddy. Aidan advised how honoured Paddy was receiving this.
