Dicksboro U19s storm to victory in Co Final v O'Loughlin Gaels - In very challenging underfoot conditions in MW Hire Dunmore Dicksboro U19s weathered a second half storm by O Loughlins to win the Permanent TSB championship on a final score line of 2-08 to 0-12. O loughlins backed by the gale in the first half roared into an early 0-3 to 0-0 score by the 10th minute . Bit by bit a hungry Boro team dug in and won crucial frees through Evan Clarke and Tadhg Butler which Mark Nolan converted to level matters by the 20th minute . In a frantic closing 10 minutes the Boro hit a purple patch scoring 1-2 to lead 1-5 to 0-5 at half time . A great run by Cian Rowe up the sideline leading to a crossfield delivery was brilliantly tapped high into the net by the inrushing Liam Brennan Smyth to give the Boro boys a huge boost near the half time whistle . The second half had just begun when a long Boro delivery was diverted into the net by Tadhg Butler to give the Boro a commanding 2-05 to 0-05 lead . O Loughlins fought back strongly in the second half but valiant defending and sheer hard work by The Boro lads throughout the field kept the Loughs at bay to run out deserving winners on a final score line of 2-08 to 0-12 . A tremendous hard working and never say die performance by the whole team despite loosing a player to a red card and Eoghan Moylan due to an ankle injury proved the difference in the end to wild excitement at the end of a tough days hurling in really atrocious conditions. Huge credit to both teams for battling the elements to deliver an exciting game. Congrats to the full panel managed by the mercurial Jim Neary aided and abetted by Philly Hogan,Graham Egan, Pat Moylan & Gavin Burke . Captain Eoghan Moylan accepted the Permanent TSB cup graciously and dedicated the win to the Maher family whose son Daire was magnanimous throughout . Great reception in Palmerstown later was held afterwards to bring down a close on the last of the 2019 GAA competitions with the Triple Crown of U15 , U17 & U19s crowns annexed by the Boro boys .
